Hello to the beautiful person who has stumbled across this page.  Welcome.  Take a seat.  Pour yourself some tea.  This post will be more of a journal entry, me contemplating.  I hope you enjoy.

You may be wondering what la vie en maya, my namesake, means.  I took inspiration from my favorite quote… la vie en rose.  La vie en rose is French for “looking at life through rose colored glasses.”  It was made into a song and was featured in the all too dreamy movie Sabrina.  Pretty please listen to this tune, you will not regret it.

In the movie, Sabrina, played by the one and only Audrey Hepburn, emerges from a confused state and sees life completely differently.  As if she put on one of those pairs of rose colored glasses.

While some think this quote represents shielding yourself from all things bad and becoming naive, I see it as making a change in your life.  For the better.

So, my blog is basically you looking at life through my glasses… even though I have 20/20 vision.

I hope this is not too confusing for you.  My ramblings can get a bit jumbled.

All the stories and pictures that call this blog home are through the perspective of yours truly.  I am quite the introvert, so this blog is an outlet where I can show you what I am thinking.  That, my friend, is why I named the blog la vie en maya.  And who knows, you maybe my perspective might change yours.

My heart overflows with gratitude that you took the time to read this.

xoxo, maya

  1. Maya, I love how you are sharing your “greatness” with the world, through a medium that lets you be you. I find the most profound writing comes from introverts, who take the time to get their words just right. Thank you for letting us see the world through Maya glasses!
